Our Third Engineers will be required, but not limited to:
- Safe efficient and cost-effective operations, maintenance and repair of the vessel and technical installations in accordance with the Master's & Chief Engineer instructions, relevant legislation, and the Company’s Safety Management System and Planned Maintenance System.
- Knowledge of, adherence to, and implementation of the Company's policies with respect to Health and Safety, Environment, Quality, Security, Smoking and Drugs and Alcohol.
- Aware of their responsibilities and obligations as required by the Management System procedures.
- Control and supervision of engineers, ratings and teams daily working plans, associated with watch and work routines as directed by the Second Engineer.
- The Junior Engineer shall keep the Chief Engineer, the Shipboard Management Team and other functions on board well informed so that they can co-ordinate and control activities thereby maximising safety, quality and environmental protection.
- The Junior Engineer is in charge of the maintenance of the generators and auxiliary equipment and is in all respects responsible for conducting his duties in the best interest of the Company and as directed by the Second Engineer.
- The Junior Engineer shall report to the Second Engineer such defects, non-conformances and other matters, which could affect safe fuel and sludge operations, or could present a risk of health and safety or pollution, quality to work or operational efficiency.
- The Junior Engineer shall keep him/herself informed of all matters concerning the vessel's operations within his/her fields of responsibility.
